Curvilinear relationships in person‐environment fit research: Is there evidence for a too‐much‐of‐a‐good‐thing effect?

In this paper, we revisit well-established linear relationship of person-organisation, demands-abilities, and needs-supply fit with job satisfaction, commitment, OCBs, propose that may be for affective work outcomes but curvilinear behavioural ones. We test idea in a two-wave sample 212 employees, measures taken 4 weeks apart. The results support the between can, indeed, curvilinear. Overall, study contributes to better understanding nature by challenging long-held ‘more is better’ logic pervades much PE research date.
